Job Description
Nooksack River Casino is a prominent entertainment destination known for blending gaming, dining, and exceptional guest services to create memorable experiences for visitors. Located in Washington State, this casino is part of the rich heritage of the Nooksack Tribe, offering guests not only opportunities for gaming but also an inviting atmosphere enriched by the cultural traditions and hospitality of the region. The establishment prides itself on maintaining a professional, welcoming environment that supports both the enjoyment and safety of its guests. As a casino resort, Nooksack River Casino delivers a variety of food and beverage services through multiple outlets, catering to a diverse clientele with offerings that range from casual snacks to sophisticated dining experiences. The casino operates under stringent state laws and tribal regulations to ensure compliance, safety, and quality, maintaining its reputation as a trusted destination for entertainment and relaxation.
The Food and Beverage Server position at Nooksack River Casino plays a crucial role in upholding the casino's standard of customer service and operational excellence. This role requires delivering prompt, courteous food and beverage services to guests in alignment with established company policies, Washington State and tribal regulations, and hospitality best practices. Candidates for this position must be enthusiastic about providing attentive service, quickly responding to guests’ needs, and creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the casino's commitment to excellent guest relations. Servers are tasked with not only taking and delivering orders accurately but also ensuring guest satisfaction through effective communication and proactive problem resolution.
In this role, typical duties include restocking beverage stations, maintaining cleanliness in the dining areas, assisting bartenders with glassware, and adhering to health and safety standards. An essential aspect of the job also involves monitoring guests for signs of intoxication and responsibly recommending refusal of service following the relevant liquor laws and casino policies. This position may occasionally encompass bartending duties for candidates who are over 21 and possess necessary certifications. Servers are expected to maintain a neat personal appearance and uphold confidentiality concerning company and player information at all times, reflecting the professional standards of Nooksack River Casino.
The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that may involve interaction with a broad demographic of guests, including the possibility of dealing with intoxicated individuals. Candidates must be physically capable of performing duties that include lifting trays of up to 25 pounds, extended periods of standing and walking, as well as bending and stooping. This physicality, combined with the ability to multitask and work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, makes this position suited for resilient and customer-focused individuals seeking a career in casino hospitality.
To qualify, candidates must obtain and maintain various permits such as the Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State Gaming Commission licenses, Class 12 or 13 Alcohol Servers permit, Gaming TIPS certification, and a Washington State Food Handler’s permit. Prior experience in casino or food and beverage serving roles is preferred but not mandatory, as thorough training and support are provided.
Joining the Nooksack River Casino team as a Food and Beverage Server means becoming part of a culturally rich and engaging workplace that values professional growth, customer satisfaction, and community spirit. This position is pivotal in ensuring that guests’ dining experiences complement their gaming enjoyment, thereby fostering high levels of customer loyalty and positive reviews. Employees in this role benefit from gaining specialized knowledge of Washington State liquor and food handling laws, casino operations, and a variety of beverage preparations. Overall, the Food and Beverage Server job at Nooksack River Casino presents an excellent opportunity for those seeking to develop their hospitality skills within a reputable and vibrant Native American casino setting.
