Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- minimum of two years verifiable interstate driving experience or one year with approved driving school diploma
- pass PITT OHIO driving test
- obtain Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days if applicable
- no suspension or revocation of driving license over 30 days in the last 36 months
- no serious traffic violations in last 60 months
- limited motor vehicle violations and no more than one at-fault accident in last 36 months
- pass DOT physical examination
- negative pre-employment drug screen
- consent to prior employer substance test verification
- no refusal to submit to alcohol or substance tests in past 3 years
- consent to 10-year work history check
- ability to read and write English and perform basic math
- willingness to be at-will employee
- consent to driver-facing event recorders
Job Qualifications
- Two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year of interstate experience plus an approved driving school diploma
- pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved trainer
- possess or obtain Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days, if applicable
- possess only one valid driver's license issued by the resident state
- no driving license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days in the past 36 months
- no citation or conviction for serious traffic violations in the past 60 months
- no pattern of more than three motor vehicle violations in the past 36 months
- no pattern of more than one at-fault accident and no more than two violations in the past 36 months
- pass Department of Transportation physical examination
- consent to pre-employment drug screen and maintain negative substance test results
- consent to use of driver-facing event recorders
- ability to read, write English and perform simple math
Job Duties
- Drive a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight
- load and unload trailer, either individually or with assistance of dockworkers
- perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
- secure freight through strapping or other methods as required
- inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy
- comply with all Federal requirements regarding the transportation of Hazardous Materials
- drive tractor/trailer in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, adhering to hours of service limitations
- maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs
- perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for safe commercial vehicle operation
