Job Description
Groovin' Gourmets is the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, a Richmond-based hospitality group that serves the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. With a strong focus on providing fresh, chef-crafted meals and seamless service, Groovin' Gourmets specializes in catering for corporate functions, weddings, and social events of all sizes. As part of a larger hospitality group, they bring years of experience and a commitment to excellence in food and service, making each event memorable and enjoyable for clients and guests alike.
The company places a high value on its people, believing that success starts with a happy and motivated team. Driven by the shared purpose of delivering happiness to customers, community, and employees, Groovin' Gourmets fosters a positive workplace where every contribution is valued. This commitment is reflected in the company’s culture and values, known as The Trolley Way, which includes a no-excuses attitude, doing the right thing, maintaining a can-do spirit, continuous growth, helping first, and transparency without any nonsense.
This position offers flexible scheduling, making it ideal for individuals seeking a second job or who prefer working occasional shifts. Catering work is seasonal, so the number of event shifts available varies throughout the year. The role requires an energetic individual who enjoys helping others celebrate important occasions, values attention to detail, and strives to leave every event better than they found it. Building rapport with customers and providing excellent service are central to the role.
As a Bartender for Groovin' Gourmets, you will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during events, ensuring guests meet legal drinking age requirements, and handling payments when necessary using the Square app for cash bars. The role involves physical tasks such as unloading vehicles, setting up the bar and glassware, and cleaning up after events. Being able to communicate effectively, work independently, and follow directions are important attributes for success in this position.
The position pays $20 per hour plus occasional tips, providing a rewarding opportunity for those interested in hospitality and event service. Employees benefit from discounts across all Trolley House Hospitality companies, including catering services, Gourmet Gang Delis, and warehouse vending items. Part-time employees who work at least 1,000 hours annually become eligible for 401k matching after their first year. This opportunity is perfect for someone seeking flexible work hours within a supportive and growing company that values employee growth and well-being.
