This opportunity is for the role of a Deli Bakery Associate at a Food Lion location in Savannah, Georgia. The position is based at Store 02682 Deli and involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the Deli Bakery Department. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional quality customer service while upholding stringent standards in accordance with the company’s standard practice manual. The associate plays a crucial part in maximizing sales by providing excellent customer service and reducing product shrinkage through the proper use of prescribed procedures.

As a Deli Bakery Associate, you will be expected to maintain an enthusiastic and customer-focused atmosphere, ensuring fast, friendly, and accurate service that enhances the shopper’s experience. You will also be responsible for understanding the detailed production standards, including ingredient usage, mixing, icing coordination, and processing of products in line with technical manuals. Maintaining sanitation and proper food handling within the department is paramount to safeguard health and safety. Additional duties include managing ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and merchandising of products while following all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

The role requires strict adherence to Food Lion’s policies, guidelines, and dress code, including the wearing of the company uniform complete with apron and name badge. Associates use various company tools such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and Ordering system (CAO) to support operational efficiency. Successful completion of on-the-job training, including Computer-Based Training (CBT), training packets, and aids, is part of the role’s requirements. This position demands a commitment to workplace safety, including identifying and reporting unsafe conditions and accidents promptly.
