Job Description

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group originated from a humble eatery located in New Orleans’ vibrant Mid-City neighborhood and has since blossomed into a thriving restaurant operation that encompasses two distinct brands: Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine. With over 20 restaurants spanning the Southeastern United States, the group continues to grow rapidly, bringing the unique spirit and rich culinary tradition of New Orleans to the brunch scene. Known for its warm hospitality, vibrant atmosphere, and high-quality food that pays tribute to the culture of the Crescent City, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group prides itself on delivering memorable dining experiences that celebrate the soul of New Orleans.

The Ruby Slipper brands focus exclusively on an all-day brunch concept that operates during breakfast and lunch hours only. This schedule offers a fantastic work-life balance for employees, allowing them to earn a fulfilling income while still being home in time for dinner and family. The group's commitment to its people is evident through its supportive work environment and opportunities for personal and professional growth. As a member of the Ruby Krewe, team members are expected to embrace a fun, energetic, and customer-focused mindset, driven by the simple belief that butter and bacon truly make everything better.

The role of a Server at Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is central to its mission of creating exceptional dining experiences. Servers are the frontline ambassadors who ensure guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and delighted throughout their meal. The primary responsibility of a server is to provide friendly and responsive service, embodying the lively and welcoming brunch culture that Ruby Slipper is known for. Servers contribute to creating raving fans by offering excellent communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to add that extra touch or “lagniappe” that surprises and delights guests.

In addition to interacting courteously with guests, servers must have a good understanding of dining room procedures and service functions, basic math skills for handling transactions reliably, and the physical stamina to work on their feet for shifts that can last up to 10 hours. They must also be capable of safely lifting and maneuvering trays of food that can weigh between 20 and 25 pounds. Responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork are highly valued qualities in this role, as the work environment is fast-paced and energized by the team’s shared passion.

This position offers not only an exciting work environment but also attractive benefits including medical and dental group insurance, paid time off, family meal discounts, and the chance for pay increases and career advancement within the growing restaurant group. Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is committed to inclusivity, employee well-being, and nurturing a workplace where staff can thrive both personally and professionally. These elements combine to make this an excellent opportunity for those who want to build a rewarding career in the hospitality industry with a brand that honors tradition while innovating for the future.
