Job Description

The Nooksack Northwood Casino is a prominent entertainment and gaming destination situated in Washington State, known for offering an exciting and vibrant experience for guests. This establishment is part of the Nooksack Indian Tribe's efforts to provide high-quality leisure and hospitality services. The casino features an array of gaming options, dining venues, and entertainment amenities that cater to both locals and visitors seeking leisure, socialization, and enjoyment in a lively environment. The venue operates under strict regulatory compliance with the Nooksack Gaming Commission and the Washington State Gambling Commission, upholding a commitment to exceptional service and responsible gaming practices.

Within this dynamic and fast-paced setting, the casino seeks dedicated and skilled individuals to join its team. The Food and Beverage department plays a pivotal role in enhancing the guest experience by providing prompt and courteous service in all dining and bar areas. Specifically, the Bar Attendant position is central to maintaining smooth and efficient beverage operations. This full-time role, reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager or Beverage Supervisor, ensures that guests receive quality cocktail and lounge services through timely order fulfillment and excellent customer interaction.

The Bar Attendant supports bartenders and lounge staff by preparing drink orders, maintaining stock levels, and managing cleanliness in the bar area. A significant aspect of this role is fostering a welcoming atmosphere by addressing guest needs proactively and following up to confirm satisfaction. The employee must handle guest concerns effectively and professionally, contributing to positive guest relations and service recovery when necessary. The position requires diligent adherence to company policies, food safety standards, and state liquor laws, including responsibilities such as recommending refusal of service when appropriate and ensuring compliance with the Washington State Mixologist Permit regulations.

Candidates must obtain and maintain several permits and licenses, including gaming and mixology permits, as well as a food handler's permit. These credentials are vital for legal and ethical operation within the casino’s regulated environment. The ideal candidate exhibits strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work at a fast pace, and familiarity with basic drink recipes and Point-of-Sale systems. Attention to detail in maintaining a neat work area and professional appearance is essential, as is the capability to handle physical demands such as lifting, standing, and multitasking during peak service times.

Working in this role involves exposure to a vibrant but sometimes challenging environment, including noise, smoke, and interactions with intoxicated patrons, requiring good judgment and conflict resolution skills. The employer values flexibility, as shifts can vary throughout the week and holidays. As part of a team committed to exceptional guest experiences, the Bar Attendant stands as a front-line ambassador of the Nooksack Northwood Casino's hospitality standards. Overall, this position offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service, mixology, and working in a culturally rich casino setting.
