The role available at SpartanNash is based at their location in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and seeks a dedicated Coffee Shop Barista who will be instrumental in enhancing the customer experience by preparing high-quality coffee shop beverages and food items while efficiently managing transactions at the cash register. The Coffee Shop Barista will be responsible for brewing, mixing, and blending beverages according to established standards, ensuring that all food and beverage handling complies with safety and sanitation guidelines. This role involves managing financial transactions accurately through the operation of the cash register and handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and coupons.
In addition to operational tasks, the Coffee Shop Barista is expected to maintain well-stocked and organized displays, rotate merchandise, and maintain an in-depth understanding of current store programs and product locations to inform and assist customers efficiently. This role also requires strict adherence to company policies concerning security, cash handling, product quality control, and safety procedures, further supporting a clean and safe environment for both employees and customers. The emphasis on courteous and polite interaction with customers reflects SpartanNash’s focus on creating a positive and welcoming shopping experience. The Coffee Shop Barista will also participate in promoting company programs such as loyalty initiatives, in-store specials, and coupon usage to encourage customer engagement and satisfaction.
