The role of Catering Service Staff at Legends Global is a hands-on position responsible for delivering the highest level of professional catering service to guests. The primary goal of this role is to achieve customer satisfaction and retention through attentive, courteous service during various events. The position involves preparing and setting up banquet rooms, assisting with food and beverage garnishes, handling banquet equipment, and maintaining strict grooming and service standards. Employees in this role are expected to work closely with Food & Beverage Managers and Banquet Captains to follow instructions specific to each event, ensuring seamless execution.

The catering staff will be actively involved in tasks such as collecting and cleaning banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces. They will assist in preparing garnishes, condiments, beverages, and breads, as well as setting tables according to event requirements. Additionally, staff members participate in pre-function meetings to understand event details and remain stationed at assigned areas throughout the event, ready to address guest needs promptly. The role demands flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the varied schedules of catered events.

Candidates for this position should be service-oriented with prior experience working in environments that emphasize customer service. Strong guest service skills, the ability to work well within a team, and a positive, customer-focused attitude are essential. Physical demands for the role include repetitive hand-eye coordination, the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and the stamina for prolonged standing, walking, and other physical activities associated with banquet service.

Job Duties

  • Report for work in proper uniform according to scheduled time
  • follow instructions from Food & Beverage Manager and Banquet Captain
  • assist with collecting banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces
  • assist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
  • clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.
  • assist with preparation and set-up of event room
  • prepare tables with place settings as instructed
  • attend pre-function meetings for event briefing
  • provide friendly and courteous customer service
  • remain at assigned station and perform duties for each event
  • report customer concerns and complaints to Banquet Captain
  • break down tables and banquet equipment after events
  • clean and return serving pieces to proper storage
  • adhere to grooming standards and company policies
  • follow service standards, procedures and guidelines
  • perform other duties as assigned
