The company is currently seeking a part-time/on call Banquet Captain for its Food & Beverage Department. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Director, this role is vital in ensuring the success of banquet events by supervising and coordinating banquet servers. The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the serving arrangements and execution during banquet functions, ensuring that food is served promptly, appropriately garnished, and that customer satisfaction standards are met or exceeded. This position requires regular attendance following ASM Global’s policies and involves hands-on direction and training of serving staff to maintain high service quality. The role demands standing for the entire shift, lifting up to 50 pounds for short periods, and performing well under varying environmental conditions. The candidate will also handle inventory-related duties such as managing linen and cooler cleanliness, replenishing supplies, and maintaining consumption sheets. Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and a positive customer service attitude are essential. The Banquet Captain plays a key role in coordinating team efforts during high-volume catering events and works flexible hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year’s experience as a banquet server or banquet captain
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- 2-5 years of direct related catering experience in a high volume work environment
- Excellent organization, planning, communication and customer service planning skills
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team setting exhibiting excellent customer service to fellow workers, guests, clients and the community
- Personal and professional initiative, enthusiasm, and dedication to excellence in wide ranging services to clients and guests
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Consults with food and beverage manager regarding serving arrangements and if additional employee and equipment are required for a smooth event
- Oversees food and beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction and quality control standards
- Observes food being served to ensure that food is correctly garnished and arranged
- Trains other employees on processes and practices for food and customer service
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Provides direction to other team members for catering activities for the food and beverage department
- Responsible for consumption sheets
- Keep linen cage stocked and cleaned
- Ensure coolers are clean
- Notify manager when low on items such as lemons, creamers, coffee, etc
- Other duties assigned as needed
