Job Description

Providence Medical Group is a prominent healthcare organization that employs over 1,500 providers across more than 90 clinics throughout the state of Oregon. The group includes a diverse range of clinical expertise, encompassing Family and Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Dermatology, and Occupational Medicine. Providence Medical Group emphasizes providing patients with accessible, close-to-home medical care through its comprehensive network of primary, specialty, and urgent care clinics. These clinics benefit from the clinical and operational support of centralized Providence programs, ensuring high standards of healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction.

The organization itself belongs to Providence, a nationally recognized, comprehensive healthcare system that spans seven states. With a mission focused on compassionate care, especially for the poor and vulnerable, Providence operates 51 hospitals, over 1,000 clinics, and an extensive range of health and social services. This immense system encompasses 122,000-plus caregivers and employees, including 34,000 physicians, all dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare. Providence is committed to equality and inclusivity, maintaining an equal opportunity employment policy including disability and veteran status.

The role being offered is a full-time Psychologist position at the Gresham Internal & Family Medicine clinic, part of Providence Medical Group. The clinic embodies a patient-centered medical home model and has developed strong integrated workflows to support multidisciplinary care. This position involves working with a diverse and underserved patient population, many of whom have complex medical and mental health needs. The environment encourages a team-based approach to healthcare with an emphasis on behavioral health integration. Training or experience in the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model with a focus on short-term, brief interventions is highly valued, making this role ideal for psychologists familiar with or interested in brief, targeted therapeutic modalities.

Additionally, the position offers the opportunity to provide training and supervision to Behavioral Health trainees enrolled in APA-accredited internship and residency programs, thereby contributing to workforce development in the field. Recent post-doctoral residents are encouraged to apply, indicating an openness to candidates at various stages of their professional careers. The role supports a healthy work-life balance, located in Gresham, a vibrant community on the east side of Portland, Oregon. Gresham offers an appealing living environment that combines suburban comfort with proximity to the cultural and recreational amenities of Portland.

Benefits of the position include a sign-on bonus, value-based incentives, and relocation assistance, underlining Providence Medical Group's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. The role also opens opportunities to connect with other openings in the greater Portland metro area, expanding career pathways within the Providence system. Working for Providence means joining a respected national health system that prioritizes compassionate, inclusive care and offers ample professional growth opportunities in a supportive work environment.
