Job Description

PsychDoc is a rapidly expanding private psychological practice based in San Diego, California, dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services to a diverse patient population. Our practice is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth, and maintaining a culture of respect and empathy. As a private practice, we specialize in delivering personalized therapeutic services and addressing a wide range of psychological and emotional needs. Our team is focused on evidence-based treatments and client-centered care, ensuring that each individual receives tailored support that promotes healing and personal development.

We are currently seeking a Psychological Associate to join our expanding team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a thriving practice that values both autonomy and collaboration. The role is ideal for doctoral candidates who are wrapping up internships or practicums and are seeking to accrue postdoctoral hours with the added benefit of supervision and extensive training. The Psychological Associate will have access to office space and administrative support, eliminating the need to source their own patients, as all clients are referred to the practice. Our flexible scheduling allows associates to manage their hours in a manner that suits their lifestyle while maintaining a minimum of 25 hours per week.

The responsibilities of this role include providing in-person therapeutic services with a strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and an empathetic approach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with military service members and their families, as well as expertise or interest in treating sexual health issues such as pelvic pain, vaginismus, erectile dysfunction, and conditions affecting new mothers. Additionally, the associate will work with patients facing trauma-related disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. PsychDoc provides specialized training and support, particularly for those interested in women’s and men’s sexual health, ensuring associates feel confident and capable in these areas.

This position is offered within an inspiring clinical environment from 8am to 7pm, providing associates the freedom to determine their working hours within those times. At PsychDoc, we emphasize continuous learning and development, encouraging our Psychological Associates to be coachable, proactive, and excited to grow professionally. Applicants who join us will benefit from a clinically rich setting that combines valuable exposure, practical experience, and exceptional supervision. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking to advance their psychology careers in a supportive, resource-rich, and rewarding private practice setting.
