Job Description
Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Brentwood is a distinguished hotel located in Brentwood, Tennessee, part of the global portfolio of renowned Marriott International. Known for its commitment to excellence in hospitality, Courtyard by Marriott offers travelers a refined and comfortable experience tailored to both business and leisure guests. The hotel prides itself on its modern amenities, attentive service, and welcoming atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and satisfaction for every visitor. Marriott International is a world leader in the hospitality industry, emphasizing inclusivity, innovation, and growth for its associates, creating environments where diverse talents flourish and company values are upheld with integrity and professionalism.
The position available at Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Brentwood is a full-time, non-management role focused on ensuring on-property event execution and providing administrative support to the General Managers of the MSB property. This role is vital in guaranteeing that all events hosted at the property operate seamlessly, enhancing guest satisfaction from the initial planning stages through to the completion of the event. The role requires serving as the primary point of contact for guests who organize and attend meetings and events, acting as a liaison to meet and exceed their expectations throughout their experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various departments, including Front Desk and Restaurant teams, ensuring guest service is prompt and effective across the property.
Key responsibilities also include backing the property's billing processes by monitoring accounts payable and receivable as well as managing direct bill applications related to both event and non-event activities. The role involves maintaining and updating content on Marriott.com to ensure accurate property representation and promotional activities. Administrative duties may extend to managing multiple databases linked to finance, accounting, labor scheduling, sales, and general operations overseen by the General Managers, alongside liaising with the Regional Sales Office. In cases where no Regional Sales Office exists, the employee may assume full responsibility for event planning and detailing.
The ideal candidate is expected to uphold Marriott's high standards of professionalism, from personal appearance to maintaining confidentiality and protecting company assets. This position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to prepare and review documentation carefully, as well as handle telephone duties with appropriate etiquette. The role emphasizes guest relations, requiring a proactive approach to anticipate and address guest needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities. Teamwork is essential, as is the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships, listen actively, and respond appropriately to guest concerns.
Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, or place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The job also calls for flexibility to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least two years of related work experience, with no supervisory experience necessary.
Joining Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Brentwood means becoming part of a team passionate about exceeding guest expectations and fostering continuous personal and professional growth. The company is dedicated to equal opportunity employment, valuing and celebrating the rich diversity of its associates, and ensuring an inclusive workplace free from discrimination. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to contribute to an exceptional guest experience, work in a collaborative team environment, and advance within a leading global hospitality brand.
