Job Description
InTown Suites is a company that values passion and customer focus, creating a work environment where employees genuinely believe in what they do. The company is committed to providing comfortable, safe, and quiet accommodations to its guests, reflecting its dedication to excellent service and guest satisfaction. InTown Suites operates as a hospitality business providing extended stay suites across various locations, including the property at 11715-B Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Virginia. This property serves as a welcoming and secure home away from home for guests, emphasizing the importance of safety, cleanliness, and guest care.
The role of Property Attendant at InTown Suites is pivotal in maintaining the safety and comfort of the property, particularly during after-hours when the office is closed. This position involves being the primary emergency contact for the property outside regular business hours, responding promptly and professionally to guest needs, complaints, and any safety concerns. The Property Attendant is responsible for patrolling the premises, conducting thorough inspections, and ensuring that all areas, including storage and employee spaces, are securely locked each night. This role requires a high level of vigilance, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and management.
Importantly, the Property Attendant is not a security guard and is prohibited from carrying firearms or dangerous weapons while on duty, emphasizing a focus on safety through observation and reporting rather than direct confrontation. The role involves following strict guidelines to avoid direct intervention in security incidents, instead contacting authorities or the General Manager as appropriate. The position requires living on the property during the employment term, underscoring a commitment to immediate availability and responsibility for the property’s condition and guest security.
This full-time role operates on an on-call schedule between five and six days per week and includes performing multiple inspections each night, with the schedule and exact duties tailored by the Regional Operations Manager or immediate supervisor. The Property Attendant completes rounds at specified times to ensure continual property surveillance and immediate response capabilities. The role also includes documentation duties, such as maintaining logs of rounds and incidents, and contributing to daily action plans for management review.
The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in diverse conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments with varying weather. Physical demands include walking briskly, climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and conducting visual inspections of rooms and facilities. The role is suited for individuals who are self-motivated, capable of working independently, and who possess strong communication skills necessary to interact efficiently with guests and team members.
InTown Suites provides an enriching work environment with supportive onboarding and ongoing training programs. Employees enjoy benefits such as a 401k with company match, complimentary housing with housekeeping services, and weekly payroll, making it an attractive opportunity for those committed to hospitality and property management. Joining InTown Suites means being part of a team dedicated to excellence, where employees take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for every guest.
