The US Foods Pronto Delivery Driver role is a vital position focused on maintaining the smooth and timely delivery of food products to customers. Drivers receive competitive pay averaging $27.21 per hour with schedules that typically run Wednesday through Saturday, offering a manageable four-day workweek with early start times between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. This position requires hardworking individuals who can safely operate delivery trucks while navigating multi-stop routes to various customer locations. Drivers are responsible for unloading products carefully using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks and ensuring items are placed in the correct storage areas. They also verify order accuracy with customers, collect signatures, handle payments if applicable, and provide excellent customer service to enhance client experiences.

Additionally, drivers must conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness. Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy items ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds repetitively during the work shift. Drivers must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and completing multiple delivery stops per shift. The position does not require prior commercial driving experience but does prefer candidates with at least a year of multi-stop delivery or local delivery experience within the foodservice industry. Possessing a valid Class B U.S. driver’s license, the ability to read and communicate in English effectively, basic math skills, and a strong sense of safety and customer service are essential qualities for success in this role. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license Class B issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations
  • No DUI convictions in the past three years
  • No driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Must pass pre-employment testing including background check
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
