Job Description
US FOODS is a leading foodservice distributor committed to providing its customers with a wide range of food products and services designed to meet the demands of the dynamic food industry. Known for its rich history and strong culture centered around promoting from within, comprehensive training programs, and a continuous improvement mindset, US FOODS stands as a major player in the food distribution sector. The company fosters a supportive work environment backed by excellent local leadership and prioritizes safety, employee growth, and customer satisfaction. As one of the largest food distributors in the country, US FOODS prides itself on its dedication to helping both its customers and employees succeed in the fast-paced food service market.
The Pronto (Non-CDL) Delivery Driver role at US FOODS offers a rewarding career opportunity for individuals interested in joining the foodservice industry with competitive hourly pay of $24.87. This position typically follows a Monday through Friday schedule starting at 6:30 a.m. until completion, though shifts may vary according to business needs. Drivers will be critical contributors to ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food products to customers, playing an essential role in maintaining the high standards of service that US FOODS is known for.
In this role, delivery drivers safely operate the company’s trucks, unloading products using tools such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, and placing food items in designated storage areas. Accuracy in verifying deliveries with customers and collect proper signatures is a key responsibility, along with handling collections when applicable. Drivers must offer excellent customer service to uphold the company’s client experience standards and must also perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
Physical requirements of the job include the ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, or pull products weighing between 20 to 80 plus pounds, and the capability to work safely in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops. Successfully performing these duties demands responsibility, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
US FOODS requires drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse as mandated by the Department of Transportation. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver's license with proper endorsements, and meet strict safety and driving record standards including no recent DUIs or license suspensions. While no commercial driving experience is required, preference is given to candidates with at least one year of multi-stop delivery or local delivery experience, especially in the foodservice industry. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and experience using hand carts is considered advantageous.
This role offers a strong benefits package starting from the first day of employment, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, life insurance, and a robust safety culture. US FOODS is dedicated to compensating employees fairly and providing a workplace where employees are valued and empowered to grow their careers. The expected base pay range is between $21.50 and $25.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills, location, and other factors.
Joining US FOODS means becoming part of a community focused on the mission of "GREAT FOOD. MADE EASY™," helping customers stay ahead of market trends with reliable products and services. Drivers represent a vital face of the company, embodying integrity, reliability, and customer commitment both on and off the road. By joining US FOODS, employees gain access to an inclusive culture, excellent training resources, and opportunities for advancement, all within a supportive and dedicated team-oriented environment. This career opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to build a future in the thriving foodservice distribution industry with a company that values its people and their wellbeing.
