The Non CDL Driver position at US FOODS is an integral role within the delivery team responsible for distributing foodservice products to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. This role specifically involves operating a company vehicle not exceeding a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 25,900 pounds, making deliveries to multiple stops throughout the day. A typical schedule is Monday through Friday, starting early in the morning, with some variations based on business demands. Drivers are expected to meet scheduled delivery times while maintaining a high level of service that reflects US FOODS’ commitment to customer satisfaction.
This role requires the ability to safely drive trucks, handle various delivery tools such as pallet jacks and two-wheelers, and perform accurate inspections of the vehicle before and after trips. Drivers are responsible for verifying order accuracy with customers and obtaining proper signatures, handling customer payments when necessary, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds repetitively throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and customer service skills, experience with multi-stop delivery, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Job Requirements
- Must meet Department of Transportation medical requirements
- be at least 21 years of age
- no more than two traffic convictions in the past two years
- no DUI convictions in the past three years
- no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
- pass pre-employment testing including background check
- physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 20 to 80+ pounds repeatedly
- comfortable working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops
- familiarity with safe lifting and loading techniques
- no commercial or professional driving experience required but preferred
- able to operate manual transmission if necessary
Job Qualifications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required
- at least one year multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery and/or foodservice industry experience
- ability to operate manual transmission preferred
- strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- knowledge of area/map reading
- ability to register and maintain compliance with FMCSA Clearinghouse
- ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Job Duties
