It operates a comprehensive network that includes light rail, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, and fixed-route bus services. With a customer-centric approach and a dedicated workforce, UTA continues to expand and improve its infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of residents and businesses.
UTA is looking to hire a Project Manager to join its Capital Development team. This is a unique career ladder opportunity, allowing entry at various experience levels with competitive salaries ranging from $82,400 for Project Manager I up to $102,300 or more for Project Manager III, based on experience. The role involves working closely with contractors, consultants, and internal departments to plan, coordinate, and lead large-scale capital projects that enhance Utah's transit system. Project managers at UTA have an essential responsibility in advancing projects from the planning through construction phases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and playing a vital role in improving community connectivity and infrastructure.
The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to engage with stakeholders, elected officials, and the public to foster collaboration and transparency. Employees will contribute to projects that directly impact public transportation, making a meaningful difference in daily lives and long-term regional development. The agency supports professional growth and innovation, expecting project managers to apply creative problem-solving skills and leadership in managing complex scopes, budgets, and schedules.
The Project Manager role at UTA encompasses three levels, each with specific responsibilities and requirements. Project Manager I assists in the coordination and oversight of capital projects, Project Manager II takes on full management responsibilities including budget and schedule development, and Project Manager III leads the most complex projects with strategic direction and senior stakeholder engagement. All roles require strong organizational skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
UTA provides a comprehensive benefits package to full-time administrative employees, including health, dental, and vision insurance options, retirement plans with company matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, employee wellness programs, and work-life balance initiatives. Employees also benefit from onsite health clinics, free transit passes, fitness memberships, and various assistance programs. This commitment to employee well-being and career advancement makes UTA a rewarding place to work and grow.
