With a strong reputation built over decades, Barrett's specializes in seamlessly integrating technology into homes and commercial spaces. The company collaborates closely with architects, designers, and builders to ensure smart technology and entertainment solutions align perfectly with the design vision of each project. Barrett's takes pride in working with the industry's top manufacturers and brands, delivering cutting-edge home technology solutions. The team is composed of system designers, project managers, and skilled technicians who maintain the highest industry certifications and commit to continuous improvement in training, education, and processes to provide exceptional client service and satisfaction. Barrett's mission extends beyond selling products; it aims to deeply understand client needs and design technology solutions that enhance lifestyle and solve problems, ensuring the technology fits harmoniously with the aesthetic and functional demands of any environment.
The Project Manager role at Barrett's Technology Solutions is a pivotal position central to the success of their projects and overall client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a trustworthy individual driven by a passion for learning and growth, hands-on by nature, and comfortable dividing their time between fieldwork and office responsibilities. Technical curiosity and an understanding of how things work are highly valued traits. This person is expected to have extensive experience managing construction sites, with skills and knowledge spanning all three phases of project implementation: rough, trim, and final. Familiarity with Audio Visual/Low Voltage (AV/LV) projects is considered a plus, while a strong work history with minimal job hopping (about three years between changes) and high emotional intelligence reinforce their suitability.
Based in Lombard, IL, this in-person position requires the Project Manager to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., managing local projects in the surrounding area. Reporting directly to John, the Vice President of Operations, the Project Manager will act as the primary point of contact across internal and external stakeholders, including clients, in-house staff, other trades, general contractors, architects, and representatives.
Key responsibilities include fully understanding the scope of work and delivering within defined parameters while proactively troubleshooting issues. The individual must efficiently plan and schedule projects aligned with available resources, ensuring timelines are met. They are responsible for maintaining project profitability by managing actual hours against budgeted targets and eliminating redundancy and errors. Issuing work orders, coordinating with third parties, maintaining quality control to meet company standards, client expectations, and scope of work, and effectively reading and interpreting blueprints, plan sets, and design documents are essential duties. The role also involves managing change orders through creation, submission for approval, payment confirmation, and execution. Maintaining updated status reports in project management software and demonstrating situational awareness while working on construction sites round out this comprehensive role.
Barrett's Technology Solutions offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 per year, reflecting the experience and expertise expected of the successful candidate. Additionally, the company provides a robust benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a company vehicle, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401K plan, parental leave, and an employee purchase program for audio, video, and home automation products. There are also abundant opportunities for advancement within this growing company, making it an excellent career choice for motivated professionals seeking to thrive in the field of technology integration and project management. Barrett's combines technological innovation with design and operational excellence, making this Project Manager role both challenging and rewarding for those who meet the criteria and share the company's values and vision.
