The Senior Project Manager position in Drainage/Stormwater is a pivotal role within the firm, offering a hybrid work environment located in either Arizona or Nevada. This is a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive annual salary range of $120,000 to $160,000, reflective of the candidate’s education, experience, and skill set. The role involves leading a team of engineers and designers dedicated to a wide spectrum of civil engineering projects, primarily focusing on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and infrastructure design related to drainage and stormwater management systems.

The Senior Project Manager will serve as the design task leader, directing project execution from data collection and fieldwork to the development of technical plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Responsibilities include creating and overseeing hydrological and hydraulic calculations, utilizing sophisticated modeling software such as RAS-2D and FLO-2D, and designing hydraulic structures and both surface and subsurface flow systems. The role demands collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to ensure that projects meet technical requirements and client expectations. Furthermore, this position entails business development duties such as participating in marketing efforts, contributing to the preparation of proposals, and engaging in client meetings to identify new opportunities.

Candidates suited for this role are expected to hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona and/or Nevada and possess at least ten years of project management experience in related civil engineering fields. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Work with a team of engineers and designers performing various tasks from developing hydrologic and hydraulic models to preparing plans, specifications/estimates for roadway and drainage infrastructure design projects and performing data collection and fieldwork
  • Attend and actively participate in client marketing and project meetings, assist in identifying new opportunities, and assist with business development and development of marketing proposals
  • Oversee the preparation of hydrological and hydraulic calculations, modeling, and preparation of technical reports, technical exhibits, and design drawings for design-bid-build and design projects
  • Development of hydrologic and 1-D, unsteady, and 2-D hydraulic models such as RAS-2D and FLO-2D
  • Analysis and design of hydraulic structures and surface and/or subsurface flow systems
  • Preparation of maps and technical reports
  • Development of drawings and specifications for design projects
  • Coordination of changes to drawings and specifications with project team leaders
  • Development of cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for design projects
