Job Description

Suffolk is a leading national enterprise recognized for its innovative approach to construction management and its expansive suite of complementary business lines, including real estate investment, design, self-perform construction, and technology startup investments through Suffolk Technologies. With a robust annual revenue exceeding $9 billion, Suffolk operates with a dedicated team of approximately 3,000 employees across 17 strategically located offices nationwide, including its headquarters in Boston and other key markets such as New York City, Miami, Dallas, and San Francisco. Known as America’s Contractor, Suffolk successfully manages some of the most complex and transformative construction projects in sectors ranging from healthcare, life sciences, education, gaming, aviation, transportation, government, to mission-critical commercial projects. The company emphasizes integrating advanced data, artificial intelligence, and technology into its Seamless Platform to revolutionize project design, construction, and operational processes, driving smarter and more predictable outcomes that are reshaping how construction is managed in the United States.

The role of Project Executive at Suffolk offers a prestigious career opportunity to provide leadership and strategic oversight to high-value construction projects, especially within the Mission Critical Center of Excellence. This center specializes in managing multi-million dollar data center and mission-critical construction projects for leading technology and telecommunications clients across the country, focusing on fast-paced and mechanical-electrical-plumbing (MEP) intensive projects. As a Project Executive, you will spearhead negotiations with project owners, maintain key client relationships, and oversee the operational and financial success of projects from inception to completion. Acting as the central figure throughout the project lifecycle, you will work closely with project managers, superintendents, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met or exceeded.

Your core responsibilities will include developing project budgets and schedules that align with profitability goals, assigning qualified staff to meet the complexity of projects, and actively participating in the acquisition of new projects through client engagement and contract negotiations. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching project teams, thereby fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Your leadership will extend to safety oversight, ensuring the implementation of Suffolk’s rigorous safety protocols, managing cash flow and accounts receivable, and maintaining schedule performance through Lean Planning processes. By championing the client’s vision and Suffolk’s standards, you will solidify the company’s reputation and contribute to sustainable business development.

Suffolk values employees who are bold, curious, innovative, and caring —professionals who bring integrity, intelligence, and dedication to their work every day. Working at Suffolk means joining a company committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities, offering ample benefits tailored to support employees’ physical, emotional, and financial well-being, with competitive salaries, comprehensive medical coverage, retirement plans with employer match, life insurance, paid time off, commuter benefits, and many more perks. For suitable candidates, especially within the Mission Critical Group, additional support includes relocation assistance, housing stipends, and travel allowances. This role demands not only extensive experience in large-scale construction management but also a mindset geared towards embracing change and inspiring teams to deliver exceptional results. Joining Suffolk as a Project Executive offers the chance to build a lasting legacy within the dynamic and thriving construction industry.
