The Project Engineer role at the Augusta Mill is an exciting opportunity for professionals seeking to contribute to a leading manufacturing environment. This position primarily focuses on the mechanical and electrical aspects of various projects that support two key paper machines, as well as other critical plant systems such as power recovery, pulp processing, woodyard operations, recaust, bleaching, and the sodium hypochlorite plant. The engineer will play a vital role in capital improvement initiatives, working as both a team member and a project leader to ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with Clearwater Paper’s business and operational objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from the conceptual stage through execution, including developing designs, estimating costs, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires technical expertise to analyze equipment specifications and determine feasible modifications or new designs that integrate seamlessly with existing manufacturing processes. Collaboration with various departments and outside vendors is essential to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement innovative solutions.
