Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in recreational program operations or similar field preferred
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Basic computer skills including data entry and word processing
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices related to recreational facilities
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical activities related to the job
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic principles of lead direction
- Understanding of operations, services, and activities of assigned programs
- Familiarity with general office and business administrative practices
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for implementing program activities
- Basic facilities maintenance principles
- Awareness of local sanitation and health regulations
- Safe and sanitary food service procedures
- Record keeping principles
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Knowledge of city and mandated safety rules and protocols
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation
- Customer service skills for dealing effectively with public, vendors, contractors, and city staff
- Ability to assist in program implementation and special event planning
- Ability to interpret and apply facility use policies
- Capability to provide courteous assistance to facility patrons
- Physical ability to lift and arrange tables and chairs
- Skills to oversee site preparation and clean up of food services
- Ability to maintain clean, safe, and secure facilities and equipment
- Competence in operating modern office equipment and software programs
- Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
- Effective communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
Job Duties
- Assist in the daily operations of assigned recreational programs and city-wide events
- Lead and assist staff and volunteers in program activities
- Complete client registration forms and maintain participation records
- Collect and track participant fees
- Oversee site preparation, clean up, and maintenance of food service and program equipment
- Monitor rented facilities including opening, closing, securing, and preparing venues
- Respond to facility maintenance issues and coordinate necessary support
