The role of Program Planner at Karman Space & Defense is instrumental in supporting program execution by managing procurement planning, inventory control, and data management activities. The Program Planner serves as a vital communication hub linking program staff, customers, and management to ensure seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle. This position is tasked with ensuring that all required data deliverables are meticulously prepared, reviewed, approved, and submitted in accordance with the contract schedules.
Program Planners work closely with manufacturing engineering teams to plan procurement strategically, identify program milestone targets, and develop effective reporting procedures to track progress against these milestones. Through diligent review, the Program Planner verifies that all program data complies with established requirements, procedures, and specifications. Additionally, the role involves participating in customer meetings, managing waiver requests, progress reports, and acceptance criteria under strict quality and regulatory standards.

Job Duties
- Establishes controls necessary to ensure that required data deliverables are prepared, reviewed, approved, published, submitted or received per the contract schedule
- Provides procurement planning in coordination with manufacturing engineering
- Identifies program milestone targets, and develops methods/procedures for reporting progress against these milestones
- Reviews data to ensure compliance with various requirements, procedures and specifications
- Participates in meetings with customers and reviews requests for waivers, progress reports, and acceptance criteria as needed
- Exercises professional discretion, independent judgment, and strong interpersonal skills, including coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
