Job Description
Nevada Humane Society is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to rescuing, sheltering, and finding loving homes for animals in the Northern Nevada community. As a high-save organization, NHS helps nearly 34,000 animals annually, providing care for approximately 10,000 animals across its Reno campuses. Driven by a mission to care for pets, find them homes, and save lives, NHS operates through comprehensive sheltering, adoption services, and community programs designed to promote the welfare of animals and support sustainable pet ownership. The organization is known for its compassionate approach, dedicated professionals, and strong community partnerships that amplify its impact on animal welfare.
The Program Marketing Coordinator role at Nevada Humane Society offers a unique opportunity to blend creativity, communication, and animal care within a meaningful cause. This full-time position, based at the Reno campus, reports to the Marketing Manager and focuses on advancing the organization’s mission through compelling storytelling, digital content creation, and community engagement. By highlighting the achievements and ongoing efforts of NHS’s programs and services, the Program Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in connecting the public with the lifesaving work NHS undertakes every day.
Responsibilities include capturing powerful visual content through photography and videography, writing and designing informative and engaging materials, managing social media channels, and supporting fundraising events and campaigns. The coordinator will also handle program-focused digital content across multiple platforms including the NHS website and email communications while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines. Additionally, the role involves analyzing content performance metrics and collaborating across teams to ensure coordinated and impactful messaging.
A vital part of this role is hands-on work with animals for marketing purposes, requiring comfort and competence in handling pets of various species and sizes safely. NHS supports this position with competitive pay, access to unique pet-centric benefits, and a supportive work environment rooted in compassion and teamwork. Northern Nevada’s vibrant lifestyle, combined with NHS’s commitment to professional development and total compensation, creates an ideal setting for individuals passionate about animal welfare and creative communications. In this role, you will play a direct part in inspiring community support and strengthening the bond between people and pets, making a lasting difference every day.
