The role of Program Manager within the Airborne Line of Business at GDMS is a key leadership position that supports the performance and profitability of programs integral to national defense. This full-time position requires a high level of expertise and includes a salary range of approximately $172,759 to $186,682 per year, depending on experience and location. The Program Manager will be responsible for leading complex projects involving the concept, design, development, integration, production, and support of airborne electronic solutions for Department of Defense platforms. These solutions include ruggedized mission computers, scalable stores management systems, multi-level security solutions, and sensor processing technologies.
As part of a leadership team, the Program Manager will oversee the financial and operational success of assigned programs. This includes managing profit and loss responsibility, driving growth initiatives, supporting proposal efforts, and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers. The role demands the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while delivering solutions that meet tight schedules and technical commitments.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 8 years relevant experience or Master's degree plus 6 years relevant experience
- Ability to obtain Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire
- U.S. citizenship required
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficient knowledge of company products and competitive landscape
- Excellent relationship management abilities
- Technical understanding of products
- Knowledge of work estimating, scheduling, and authorization
- Implement Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Ability to develop and implement WBS and WBS Dictionary

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years relevant experience or Master's degree with minimum 6 years relevant experience
- Proven experience in program management for defense or technology projects
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in matrixed organizations and manage cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Department of Defense contracting and security protocols
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex systems and solutions
- U.S. citizenship required for security clearance
Job Duties
- Use proposal plans and strategies to develop and implement cohesive program, subcontractor, and material plans
- Develop WBS and WBS dictionary as baseline for scope definition and integrated cost/schedule management
- Authorize work, organize interdepartmental activities, and track work accomplished to baseline plans
- Conduct reviews to identify risks, develop corrective actions, and communicate issues and impacts to project teams
- Work with engineering and operations teams to align resources for project goals
- Forecast project completion based on cost and schedule trends
- Support customers on technical questions
- Lead team to identify and quantify risks and opportunities and lead risk mitigation activities
- Prepare and present program status to leadership and external customers
- Balance project plans, risks, and opportunities to meet technical requirements and budgets
- Identify scope changes and develop positions for cost and schedule adjustments
- Manage profit and loss of projects
- Develop and execute proposal plans and strategies
- Support and develop customer relationships and new business opportunities
- Support and lead customer negotiations for projects
