Job Description

Mentor Community Services, a valued part of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing exceptional community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since its founding, Mentor Community Services has been committed to the belief that every person has the right to live well and enjoy a fulfilling life. By offering compassionate, person-centered care and support, this organization ensures that individuals are empowered to live more independently and engage actively within their communities. With a mission-driven approach, Mentor Community Services is proud of the relationships it builds with those it serves and the impact it makes daily in the field of social and human services.

Sevita, the parent organization, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care services across the United States. With more than 50 years of experience, Sevita supports over 50,000 individuals and employs about 40,000 passionate team members dedicated to fostering independence and growth among people facing physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges. The company values innovation, quality service, and individualized support, making it a top choice for professionals pursuing careers in this vital sector.

The Program Director position within Mentor Community Services offers an extraordinary opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their career in social and human services, particularly in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role is essential to ensuring the success and quality of the programs managed by the organization. It requires a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee one to four programs in the community, managing day-to-day operations with an emphasis on delivering person-centered support and services that meet the needs of individuals.

The Program Director will have a broad scope of responsibilities, including the organization and implementation of direct supports, person-centered planning, healthcare coordination, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, recruiting, retention, staffing, training, safety, financial management, and the maintenance of the physical environment. Alongside these tasks, the director will supervise program staff members by conducting performance evaluations, scheduling, and orienting new employees to ensure high standards of care.

A critical part of the role involves making informed personnel decisions, including hiring, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary actions, and terminations. The Program Director is also expected to manage the effective implementation of program plans, monitor the delivery of services, and guarantee that the support provided remains consistent, engaging, and relevant to the individuals served. Flexibility is key, as the director must be available on-call to support staff by finding coverage or covering shifts when necessary.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary range from $50,000 to $55,000, accompanied by a full compensation and benefits package. Included benefits encompass a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and an environment that promotes rewarding work and job security. Candidates will join a supportive team environment where collaboration and career development are encouraged, making it an ideal place for professionals dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others to thrive.

Join Mentor Community Services today and experience a career well lived, filled with purpose and professional growth.
