Job Description
Utah State University (USU) is a renowned land-grant university founded in 1888, dedicated to advancing knowledge and serving the public good through innovative research, high-quality education, and community engagement. As Utah's premier public service university, USU serves over 29,800 students both online and at multiple campuses throughout the state, including the Logan main campus and a network of residential and extension campuses. The university is recognized for its strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all students and employees. In 2023, Forbes named Utah State University as the best employer in Utah, a testament to its dedication to employee well-being and professional growth. USU is also an NCAA Division I competitor, joining the Pac-12 Conference in the 2026-2027 season, underscoring its tradition of excellence and achievement.
The One Utah Service Fellowship (OUSF) Program Coordinator I - Individual Placement Coordinator role at Utah State University is a vital position within the Utah Conservation Corps under the Student Success College. This full-time, exempt role with a minimum salary of $45,670 (commensurate with experience) offers excellent benefits and operates primarily from the USU Salt Lake Campus in Taylorsville, Utah, with a hybrid work option available after 90 days. The coordinator is responsible for managing the placement of AmeriCorps/OUSF Fellows with various non-profit, federal, state, and local projects across Utah. The mission of OUSF is to address critical state needs while supporting young adults aged 18 and over to gain meaningful service experience and advance their post-secondary education or training opportunities through 100 to 1,700 hour service engagements in areas such as Healthy Futures, Education, and Capacity Building.
In this role, the coordinator oversees the entire lifecycle of the community placement program, ensuring adherence to AmeriCorps guidelines, providing strategic leadership, and collaborating with community partners to enhance program impact. Key responsibilities include developing and refining operational procedures for member onboarding, orientation, and training; offering professional development support; conducting site visits to ensure program quality; managing related logistics such as travel and reimbursements; and elevating the program's public profile through coordinated communications strategies. The position also involves strategic program support, including long-term planning, grant and fundraising contributions, and managing digital content for the program's online presence.
This position requires a proactive, organized individual with strong interpersonal skills, program leadership experience, and knowledge of AmeriCorps or similar National Service programs. The coordinator will liaise closely with various stakeholders within USU and community partners to facilitate efficient program operations that align with institutional and federal requirements. Periodic travel to placement sites across Utah is required for quality assurance and relationship building. Applicants must successfully complete a background check and submit a resume, cover letter, and responses to specific application questions. This is a permanent, benefited position contingent upon continued funding and compliance with grant and state appropriations.
