Job Description
The University of Cincinnati (UC), founded in 1819, is one of the nation’s premier urban public research universities. With a vibrant community comprising more than 53,600 students, 12,000 faculty and staff, and an extensive network of over 360,000 alumni, UC stands as a Carnegie RI institution that seamlessly integrates research excellence with innovative campus design. Recognized by The New York Times for having the most ambitious campus design program in the country, the university is a central figure in the Cincinnati Innovation District and is proud to house the oldest cooperative education program in the United States, where students earn approximately $94 million annually through paid work experiences. UC’s extensive academic health system and membership in the prestigious Big 12 Conference further reinforce its reputation as an influential educational institution. The university contributes significantly to the local and state economy, generating $10.6 billion in economic impact in Cincinnati and $22.7 billion across Ohio. At UC, the commitment to progress and innovation is a shared journey for the entire community, reflecting the philosophy that advancing the future is a collective responsibility.
The University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine Office of Student Affairs is currently seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator for their medical student programs. This full-time role is integral to planning, designing, evaluating, modifying, and coordinating various programs aimed at enriching the educational and professional experiences of medical students. The position offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $50,000, commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering seminars, workshops, and classes, managing program objectives, and conducting evaluations to ensure continuous improvement. This role requires strong administrative skills, particularly in financial support for program initiatives, and the ability to formulate effective marketing strategies to attract students and program participants.
Additionally, the Program Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, staff, external agencies, and university departments to ensure robust program development and implementation. Responsibilities also include collecting and analyzing data via assessments and evaluations, preparing comprehensive reports, and potentially supervising staff members. This position embodies the university’s mission to foster student success and community transformation through scholarship and service. With an office environment and no unusual physical demands, this role offers a balanced and supportive work setting. UC is dedicated to equity and inclusion, emphasizing a workplace culture that values diversity and equal opportunity. The university also provides exceptional benefits, including comprehensive tuition remission, robust retirement plans without Social Security contributions (except Medicare), and generous work-life balance policies, such as paid holidays, sick leave, vacation time, and parental leave. This position aligns with UC’s pursuit of excellence and innovation, offering the right candidate an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a historic and forward-looking medical education environment.
