As a public entity, the City of El Monte values innovation, inclusivity, and professional development, striving to create experiences that cater to people of all ages and backgrounds. It oversees multiple recreational facilities and programs designed to foster healthy lifestyles and bring citizens together in a welcoming and safe environment. The city's recreation department upholds high standards for program management and customer service and continuously seeks to improve its offerings by implementing new ideas and responding to community needs.

The Recreation Coordinator role in the City of El Monte is a dynamic and highly responsible position involving the planning, organization, and coordination of various recreation programs and facilities. The candidate must be adept at leveraging modern business tools, including software programs for financial and operational tasks. Effective communication, both oral and written, is essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, vendors, community groups, and the public. The Recreation Coordinator position requires versatility, including working varied hours, such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate program schedules.
