Job Description
The Corporation for Findlay Market (CFFM) is a dynamic, community-focused organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing Findlay Market in Cincinnati, Ohio. Known as one of the oldest continuously operated public markets in Ohio, Findlay Market is a vibrant hub for local food vendors, artisans, and cultural events. CFFM plays a vital role in supporting the market’s mission to foster economic development, celebrate diversity, and provide an inviting public space that serves the community's needs. With a rich history and strong local ties, the Corporation for Findlay Market is committed to promoting the cultural and economic vibrancy of the neighborhood while supporting local businesses and community initiatives. The organization prioritizes inclusivity, philanthropy, and community engagement in all its operations, making it a significant contributor to Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district and surrounding areas.
The Program Associate at CFFM is a full-time, year-round position that plays a critical role in managing and executing programs that advance the goals of Findlay Market. This role operates on a flexible weekly schedule from Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional evening and Sunday hours to support events and programming needs. The schedule is carefully planned and communicated in advance, reflecting the varied nature of the market’s activities, which range from traditional daytime hours to special evening events requiring onsite presence. The Program Associate serves as a key member of the Communication Team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of program development from conception to completion. This includes supporting market events, working closely with volunteers, assisting with performer check-ins, and managing day-of logistics.
The individual in this role must be organized, self-motivated, and engaging—a proactive problem solver who can take initiative and drive programs forward independently. A strong alignment with CFFM’s mission, values, and community-centered approach is essential, as all programming must be strategically planned to support organizational objectives and the diverse community it serves. The position includes responsibilities to enhance existing programs and develop new initiatives, tailored to attract and retain shoppers, foster local partnerships, and strengthen community impact through volunteer and board engagement.
Success in this position is measured by the ability to increase shopper participation at Findlay Market, build local partnerships, and support nonprofit and employee development efforts. The Program Associate collaborates closely with other roles such as the Event Coordinator and the Community Engagement Manager, ensuring seamless event execution and cohesive programming across the organization. This role offers vast opportunities for professional growth within a vibrant, diverse urban environment and requires enthusiasm for making a positive difference in the community. The Program Associate is empowered to lead strategic initiatives, manage multiple projects, and contribute actively to the organization’s culture of inclusivity, accountability, and excellence.
