The Program & Events Coordinator role is a full-time, salaried, exempt, and administrative position at-will, situated within this considerate and mission-focused church environment. Reporting directly to the Associate Pastor of the Community Center, this position plays a pivotal role in organizing and managing various programs, classes, and special events primarily on weekdays. The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all logistical aspects related to activities held at the Community Center, including scheduling, vendor coordination, supplies management, and setup and teardown of facilities. This role demands a servant-hearted attitude and a genuine commitment to fostering a welcoming, mission-aligned atmosphere.

A key responsibility of the Program & Events Coordinator is to collaborate extensively with church staff, volunteers, and external partners to develop meaningful programs that attract new individuals and families, extending the church's reach in the community. This position requires an individual with strong organizational skills, mature Christian faith, and excellent relational abilities to nurture a positive and spiritually enriching environment. The coordinator will assist in developing program ideas, evaluating their effectiveness, and continuously enhancing community engagement. Additionally, this role involves maintaining accurate records of participants, tracking attendance, and providing detailed reports to church leadership.

The successful candidate will have a well-rounded leadership capacity, capable of managing multiple projects efficiently and with attention to detail and budget adherence. They will also be instrumental in volunteer engagement, working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, schedule, and train volunteers essential for supporting the growth and execution of the church's programming. The Program & Events Coordinator must embrace the calling to walk alongside people in their faith development, exhibit professionalism, and uphold high ministry standards aligned with Crossings Community Church’s purpose and vision. This role demands a multi-tasking, high-energy team player with a positive attitude and the skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.

Physically, the position requires the ability to walk moderate distances, lift and carry parcels weighing up to 35 pounds for short distances, and occasionally handle items up to 50 pounds. Maintaining a drug-free workplace, possessing a valid and unrestricted driver’s license, and ensuring safety for oneself and others, including minors, is mandatory. The candidate should also demonstrate spiritual gifts such as administration, leadership, discernment, hospitality, creativity, and encouragement.

Educationally, the Program & Events Coordinator is expected to have at least an undergraduate degree along with relevant experience in location ministry, leadership development, event coordination, and volunteer team building. Regular attendance at the Crossings Community Church Center location is required to fully grasp the church’s culture, mission, and vision, ensuring cohesive and mission-centric program management. Overall, this role is essential for enhancing the church’s outreach and connection within the community through well-executed, inspiring programs and events that embody the spirit and mission of Crossings Community Church.

Job Duties

  • coordinate the planning and execution of weekday activities, classes, programs, and special events held at the Community Center
  • manage program logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, supplies, and facility setup and teardown
  • work collaboratively with the Associate Pastor and other ministry staff to implement the vision and direction for Community Center and church programming
  • assist in developing new programs and events that attract new individuals and families to the Community Center and church
  • evaluate programs and contribute ideas for continued improvement and community engagement
  • coordinate scheduling and logistics for activities throughout the Community Center
  • manage the building calendar and coordinate space usage for ministries, programs, and approved outside organizations
  • ensure outside organizations align with the values and mission of Crossings Community Church
  • coordinate room setups, equipment needs, and facility logistics to ensure events run smoothly
  • build strong relationships with volunteers serving at the Community Center
  • partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to support volunteer scheduling, training, and program needs
  • help recruit additional volunteers to support growing programming and events
  • coordinate with vendors, instructors, and community partners involved in programming
  • order and manage supplies needed for programs, activities, and events
  • assist in tracking expenses and coordinating purchases within approved budgets
  • maintain accurate program and participant records using church systems and internal platforms
  • track attendance, registrations, and program metrics
  • provide reports and program data to leadership as requested
  • help create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all who enter the Community Center
  • maintain awareness of programs and ministry opportunities to assist participants and visitors
  • represent Crossings Community Church with professionalism and warmth in all interactions
  • maintain highest ministry standards and professional ethics
  • support leadership contributing to unity among staff and congregation
  • perform other duties as assigned to fulfill Crossings’ mission and goals
