Job Description
The Schusterman Center at Brandeis University is a dynamic and fast-paced academic hub dedicated to advancing Israel studies through deep exploration, rigorous research, and vibrant dialogue. Known for bringing world-class scholars, thought leaders, and diverse perspectives to campus, the Center serves as a key intellectual venue focused on promoting academic freedom and intellectual curiosity. This environment thrives on the fusion of interdisciplinary studies, enabling students and faculty alike to engage with complex and nuanced topics related to Israel and the broader Middle East region. As an essential part of Brandeis University, a respected institution renowned for its commitment to inclusive education and scholarship, the Schusterman Center plays a pivotal role in shaping critical conversations and thought leadership at the campus and community levels.
The role of Program Administrator at the Schusterman Center is crucial to sustaining the Center's mission and operational excellence. The position offers a salary range between $55,900 and $68,000 and involves full-time employment supporting the administrative and logistical backbone of the Center. As the Program Administrator, you will be the ultimate coordinator, responsible for managing a wide array of moving parts that make the Center's engaging programs and prestigious events possible. This is not a typical administrative role; it requires an individual who thrives in a high-energy setting with the capability to juggle detailed schedules, budgets, and guest logistics flawlessly.
Your responsibilities will include organizing complex speaker series, ensuring smooth collaboration between multiple campus departments such as University Events, Facilities, Public Safety, and Procurement. You will manage all logistical elements including catering, room bookings, travel arrangements, and audio-visual setups tailored to the diverse range of events hosted by the Center. Beyond logistics, you will be the welcoming face for visiting scholars, dignitaries, students, and faculty, ensuring every guest experience is professional, hospitable, and seamless.
This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a diplomatic approach to managing competing interests and sensitive content, and a talent for problem-solving in fast-paced environments. You will be expected to maintain rigorous administrative workflows such as tracking expenses, managing schedules, and providing top-notch coordination that elevates the Center's reputation. Furthermore, working at the Schusterman Center means you will join a dedicated team where your contributions directly impact the academic community and enrich campus life. Your efforts will support meaningful intellectual exchanges and academic programming that inform and inspire.
This position is ideal for a professional who values a stimulating and collaborative workplace where no two days are alike. It offers the opportunity to build meaningful partnerships, exercise your logistical expertise, and contribute to a prestigious academic program that values diversity of thought and academic freedom. The Schusterman Center is committed to equal opportunity and inclusion, ensuring a supportive environment for employees from all backgrounds. If you are passionate about event coordination, administrative excellence, and making a tangible difference in higher education programs, this role provides a perfect platform to showcase and grow your skills.
