Job Description

The Arc Mercer is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Known for its commitment to person-centered services and community inclusion, The Arc Mercer offers a broad spectrum of programs tailored to support adults with complex needs, including those with behavioral health and dual diagnosis challenges. By focusing on delivering high-quality, compassionate care, the organization empowers individuals to live meaningful, fulfilling lives while fostering independence and social integration. As a leader in developmental disability services in New Jersey, The Arc Mercer operates with a mission-driven approach and a dedication to innovation, professional growth, and collaborative teamwork.

We are currently seeking a Program Administrator for our Behavioral Day Services, a full-time, exempt position offering a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $100,000 annually. Reporting directly to the Associate Executive Director of Day and Vocational Services, this pivotal role requires a seasoned leader passionate about advancing the quality and effectiveness of behavioral day programs. The Program Administrator will be responsible for the overall leadership and operational oversight of multiple programs, ensuring that they maintain regulatory compliance, staff development, and provide person-centered, innovative services.

The successful candidate will supervise Program Managers and program staff, serving as a mentor and guide to foster a supportive and well-functioning team environment. This role involves collaborating closely with clinical, nursing, quality assurance, and operational teams to guarantee exceptional service delivery. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, recruitment, staff performance management, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. The individual will also manage behavioral trends, incidents, and outcomes to support consumer success, working alongside Behavioral Specialists, nursing staff, support coordinators, families, and guardians.

Maintaining compliance with regulations such as DDD, Medicaid, and DHS is a critical component of the position. The Program Administrator will oversee documentation, audits, incident reporting, and corrective action plans while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence. Additionally, this role supports expanding community integration opportunities by developing partnerships that enhance recreation, volunteerism, education, and vocational experiences for clients.

The Arc Mercer values strong leadership and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to person-centered support. Ideal candidates possess a bachelor's degree in a related field, substantial experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and supervisory qualifications. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated leader to make a meaningful impact by advancing The Arc Mercer’s mission and guiding a dedicated team toward excellence in behavioral day services.
