This opening is for a Manufacturing and Assembly Supervisor on the second shift, with working hours from 3 pm to 12:30 am. The role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and coordination of manufacturing processes within GA-ASI's production facilities. The Manufacturing and Assembly Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing assemblers and technicians, managing work schedules, and ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards throughout the production phases.
The successful candidate will be intimately familiar with the technical and operational aspects of manufacturing and assembly, capable of interpreting blueprints, work orders, and production requirements. They will play a key role in optimizing production workflows, resolving issues related to equipment and tooling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, planning, and testing departments.
This role emphasizes leadership and the ability to coach and guide employees to improve productivity and maintain high-quality standards. The supervisor will also be tasked with assessing defective equipment, coordinating repairs, and suggesting improvements to manufacturing methods and departmental efficiency. Moreover, the individual will support configuration changes and field upgrades, contributing to ongoing product development and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field
- Nine or more years of progressive professional experience
- Extensive technical understanding of production and assembly concepts and practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work extended hours and travel
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and nine or more years of progressive professional experience in a related technical field
- May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education
- Must demonstrate an extensive technical understanding of production and assembly concepts and practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance is required
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees and external representatives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Job Duties
- Supervises assemblers and technicians in various locations through all phases of production in accordance with established schedules
- Offers guidance and coaching to manufacturing personnel
- Oversees the design and building of tooling needed for the production process
- Examines defective equipment to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for repairs
- Assists test department with expeditious turnaround of repairs as required
- Assists engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues
- Interfaces with planning personnel in the generation of process flows
- Monitors usage and supply of all production materials and tooling
- Reorders materials when necessary
- Interfaces with production control to prevent material and equipment shortages
- Formulates and recommends plans, policies, procedures and schedules for the section
- Seeks methods to improve product quality, repeatability, and efficiency
- Schedules and coordinates work assignments
- Ensures accurate time charging
- Inspects work in progress and finished products
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
- Suggests changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency
- Implements configuration changes in the product and supports field upgrades and operations
- Interfaces with outside vendors and sales representatives to stay current on new products and services
- May interface with customers to answer product-related questions
- Participates in hiring, promoting, and training subordinate employees
- Assigns, directs, and reviews their work
- Observes all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations in business conduct
- Leads the workplace in safe practices according to operating procedures
