Job Description

UniFirst is a distinguished leader in the garment services industry, boasting an impressive footprint across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. With over 14,000 team partners serving more than 300,000 business customer locations, UniFirst is a powerhouse in a sector valued at 18 billion dollars. For more than 80 years, UniFirst has delivered consistent growth and reliability, earning accolades such as a spot in Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies." This venerable yet dynamic organization combines the intimacy of a small company culture with the robust resources and stability of a large enterprise.

The UniFirst family culture is central to what makes this company stand out. It is a workplace where diversity is celebrated through a tapestry of cultures, personalities, and backgrounds, creating a welcoming environment for everyone. The company prioritizes work-life balance, offering a standard 40-hour work week with weekends off, allowing team partners to recharge and maintain a fulfilling personal life. Career growth is not just a promise but a demonstrated reality at UniFirst, with many managers having started their careers on the production floor. Continuous cross-training enhances team partners' skill sets and opens the door for internal promotions, underscoring the company's commitment to employee development and long-term success.

As a Production Team Partner in the Shipping Department at UniFirst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive their garments on schedule—a vital part of maintaining the high standards expected by UniFirst's diverse client base. This position is perfect for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and eager to join a team-oriented environment. New hires receive comprehensive on-the-job training that equips them with the skills needed for success and the opportunity to explore multiple areas within production through ongoing cross-training.

This full-time role enjoys a consistent 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday, affording employees the coveted benefit of having weekends off to spend with their families or pursue personal interests. UniFirst understands that employee well-being contributes directly to a productive workforce, so it offers a competitive hourly wage complemented by an attractive benefits package. The benefits include a 401K plan with company match, profit sharing, comprehensive health insurance coverage, employee assistance programs, life insurance, paid time off, convenient direct payroll deposit, tuition reimbursement to support further education, a generous 30% employee discount, and employee referral bonuses.

The day-to-day responsibilities center around preparing garments for shipping—properly organizing, inspecting, and storing them according to routes and stop numbers, including handling necessary poly bagging and wrapping. Adherence to safety policies, HACCP, and medical guidelines is mandatory, ensuring a secure and health-conscious workplace. This position is suitable for individuals capable of standing and walking for an 8-hour shift, able to perform basic mathematical functions related to weight, measurement, volume, and distance, and able to lift up to 10 pounds and push up to 25 pounds.

UniFirst is committed to equal opportunity employment and thrives in an inclusive culture free from discrimination based on race, color, gender, national origin, religion, disability, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, citizenship, or any other protected factor. This commitment reinforces a supportive work environment that values each team partner's unique contributions.

In summary, the Production Team Partner role at UniFirst offers an exceptional career opportunity within a globally recognized company that values its employees and provides a stable yet dynamic working environment. With excellent pay, comprehensive benefits, ongoing training, and clear pathways for career advancement, this role not only supports robust professional development but also fosters a healthy work-life balance in a culture that genuinely cares about its people.
