Job Description

Rail Events Productions is a dynamic division of American Heritage Railways dedicated to creating immersive and unforgettable event experiences aboard historic trains. Known for blending heritage with innovative entertainment, Rail Events Productions specializes in delivering high-quality productions that captivate audiences in unique settings. They have carved a niche in the entertainment industry by combining theatrical elements with the allure of rail travel, offering guests extraordinary and memorable adventures. The company upholds a strong commitment to safety, artistic integrity, and fostering a positive working environment that nurtures professional growth and teamwork among its staff.

Within this exciting environment, the Production Video Supervisor role is an integral part of the Rail Events Productions team, specifically under the Season/Design Staff branch. This position reports directly to the Director of Production and Production Managers, serving as a critical link between creative vision and practical execution. Classified as a non-exempt, hourly, seasonal role, it offers competitive compensation at $28 per hour. The role demands a skilled professional who can oversee all facets of video system implementation and maintenance on productions such as "Harry Potter™: A Hogwarts Express Adventure," a unique interactive experience combining theatrical artistry and technology on a moving train.

As the Production Video Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with video designers, local video technicians, and the broader production team during all phases of the production lifecycle—from pre-production planning through installation, operational runs, and load-out procedures. Your expertise will ensure that video systems are flawlessly integrated and maintained, preserving both technical performance and artistic intent throughout the event run. Your leadership will extend to training and supporting local crews, troubleshooting in real-time, and developing comprehensive documentation to enable smooth video operations. The position requires not only technical acumen in working with LED panels, video monitors, and video servers such as Disguise but also demands strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role offers unparalleled opportunities to be involved in an innovative production setting unlike any other—a captivating combination of theatrical production and moving train logistics that challenges conventional entertainment boundaries. Joining Rail Events Productions means becoming part of a passionate, inclusive team dedicated to creativity, excellence, and safety. You will gain invaluable experience working on world-class live events, broaden your professional network, and contribute to creating magical moments that enchant thousands of guests. This job demands flexibility, dedication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere for all team members. If you are driven by theatrical tech challenges and eager to play a pivotal role in groundbreaking productions, the Production Video Supervisor position presents a rewarding and unique career path.
