The role of a Production Operator at C.H. This position involves operating various production machinery including mixers, ovens, filling machines, and packaging equipment, as well as routinely monitoring production processes to optimize efficiency and quality output. The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and ensuring machinery functions correctly, conducting quality checks to maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety regulations (FSA, USDA), and adhering strictly to safety protocols to create a safe work environment.
In addition to technical operation duties, the role demands meticulous maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation in production areas to prevent contamination and support food safety. This includes performing sanitation procedures on equipment and disposing of waste according to company and regulatory standards. The Production Operator collaborates closely with other team members such as quality control personnel and supervisors to meet production targets, communicate production issues, and suggest process improvements. The ability to maintain accurate production records and assist with inventory management is key for ensuring seamless production flow.
Candidates must demonstrate physical stamina to work in environments with exposure to elements such as dust, noise, fumes, and varying temperatures, while safely handling and moving packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and non-standard shifts is expected due to the nature of production schedules.
