Job Description

Bel Brands is a renowned company with a rich history spanning over 160 years, internationally recognized for its commitment to bold innovation, family values, and social purpose. The company is best known for its popular and beloved brands such as Babybel, GoGo squeeZ, The Laughing Cow, and Boursin. These products are designed not only to bring joy to consumers but also to serve as a force for good by addressing key nutritional gaps in the American diet. Bel Brands is actively on a mission to help close the critical 80 percent nutrition gap by making it easier for Americans to consume more fruits, vegetables, and dairy products daily. With headquarters located in Chicago and New York City, Bel Brands operates four manufacturing plants across the United States, including one in Little Chute, Wisconsin.

The Production Supervisor role at Bel Brands is a key leadership position within the company’s Industrial Operations team at the Little Chute manufacturing plant. This position is an unlimited-term, full-time role that reports directly to the Production Manager. The role requires overseeing the manufacturing process of finished products, ensuring compliance with all legal, union, and customer requirements. The Production Supervisor will manage a team of more than 30 employees and play a pivotal role in maintaining production standards, safety protocols, and quality control. This role operates primarily on a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., supporting both the first and second shifts and occasionally covering shifts for other supervisors and working Saturdays when needed.

As a Production Supervisor, the successful candidate is expected to lead and direct work crews effectively to produce products that meet the company’s high-quality standards. The position requires close coordination with work teams to anticipate production needs, resolve mechanical issues, conduct safety and quality checks, and ensure employee training and adherence to operating procedures. Attention to detail is critical as the supervisor monitors production levels against schedules, maintains batch formulas, and oversees packing and labeling processes. Documentation and record-keeping are also vital, with responsibilities including maintaining daily checklists and production records.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement through participation in PCS (Production Control System) initiatives focused on optimizing production, reducing downtime, and minimizing waste. Equally important are the managerial duties related to employee relations, such as scheduling, assigning daily work tasks, managing attendance and vacation requests, coaching, training, and conducting performance evaluations. This supervisory role demands not only operational expertise but also the interpersonal skills necessary to foster a productive and positive work environment.

Safety, environmental stewardship, and quality are paramount at Bel Brands. The Production Supervisor must rigorously follow safety rules and environmental protocols, uphold Good Manufacturing Practices, and ensure that food safety procedures are strictly followed. Maintaining a clean and safe workplace is an ongoing obligation, requiring vigilance to detect and address any hazardous conditions promptly. Employees in this role are also required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, non-slip safety toe shoes, protective gloves, hair nets, Tyvex gowns, and ear protection.

Candidates for this role typically hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, or a related field with at least one year of production supervision experience, although those with a high school diploma and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment are also considered. Experience in dairy processing or food manufacturing is highly preferred, along with intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Office. Additional desirable skills include demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives and the ability to communicate effectively, with Spanish language skills considered a plus.

The physical demands of the job include some standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and twisting. The role primarily involves sedentary to light work with occasional lifting requirements. The working environment may vary with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, wet conditions, dust, and noise.

Bel Brands is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, actively supporting the recruitment and advancement of veterans and individuals with disabilities. The company fosters a supportive culture where confidentiality, work quality, integrity, and respect are fundamental. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a company with a mission-driven approach that combines heritage, innovation, and social responsibility in the food manufacturing industry.
