The role of Shift Production Supervisor at Flowers Foods offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of production operations within a dynamic, quality-driven company.   • Completion of AIB Bakery Science Residence Program
  • Completion of formal management skills training program
  • Two or more years of experience in plant production work
  • Ability to demonstrate competency for activities affecting product safety, legality, and quality

Job Duties

  • Ensure that production technicians and outsourced labor are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment and monitor employee use of such equipment
  • Review records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials
  • Perform continuous inspections of the product to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition
  • Promote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel through enforcement of safety policies and procedures, including inspections and periodic safety meetings
  • Plan and adjust work assignments of personnel to cover all phases of production
  • Operate the facility metal detector(s) with full training and certification as required
  • Ensure employee compliance with work rules
  • Assist with employee training
  • Make recommendations on disciplinary action and participate in the disciplinary action process as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including EEO, sexual harassment, safety, Sarbanes Oxley
  • Perform other duties deemed integral by management including adherence to attendance policies and operating rules
