Job Description
HMI is a distinguished company within the glass manufacturing industry, known for the unique blend of mechanical skill and artistic craftsmanship that sets its products apart in the marketplace. As a company that deeply values its employees and advocates for their growth and advancement, HMI offers a nurturing and dynamic work environment that encourages learning, development, and collaboration among team members. The organization prides itself on its commitment to quality, innovation, and safety, ensuring that all its manufacturing processes comply with strict standards to deliver superior products to clients and customers. HMI operates dedicated tempering production lines where precision and attention to detail are paramount for success and product excellence.
As a Machine Operator with HMI, you will embark on an exciting career path learning the specialized trade of glass manufacturing. This role is uniquely tailored for individuals who are mechanically inclined and possess an artistic edge, qualities that are essential in contributing to the high standards HMI upholds. The position involves hands-on experience with equipment such as saws, drills, and power tools, and emphasizes the importance of quality control on every piece of glass that passes through the production line. You will be responsible for mastering all tasks associated with your assigned tempering production line, developing a comprehensive understanding of the entire manufacturing process.
In this role, quality assurance is integral to your everyday activities. You will perform routine inspections to detect any defects or quality issues in the glass and follow strict procedures for escalating these issues for further assessment. Being meticulous, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented are crucial traits for success in this position. Additionally, maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment will be part of your daily responsibilities, as HMI prioritizes the well-being and efficiency of its workforce.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a high school diploma or GED, seeking to enter the manufacturing sector with no prior experience necessary, though experience in warehouse or construction settings is advantageous. Working at HMI involves physical demands such as standing for long shifts, lifting heavy glass panels (up to 75 lbs), and operating machinery under potentially loud and non-climate-controlled conditions. This role offers a unique blend of physical activity, technical skill development, and artistry in manufacturing - making it a rewarding and engaging career choice for the right individual.
