Job Description
Dura-Line, an Orbia business, is a leading global manufacturer specializing in plastic conduit pipes that enable connectivity and information exchange across multiple markets worldwide. The company is committed to quality, sustainability, and safety, maintaining rigorous environmental and safety standards throughout its manufacturing processes. Dura-Line’s products play a critical role in the telecommunications industry by creating pathways that facilitate seamless communication and data transfer. As part of their workforce, employees contribute to advancing connectivity on a global scale, with a clear mission to Advance Life Around the World.
This full-time role is for Production Operators working the day shift at Dura-Line’s Salt Lake City, Utah facility. The position is centered in the Extrusion department, which produces plastic pipe products. As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery, monitoring product quality, inspecting finished pipes, and documenting production activities to ensure all products meet stringent quality and safety specifications. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual capable of maintaining workflow efficiency while adhering to safety protocols. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to optimize production output, minimize waste, and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Offering a competitive starting pay of $20.50 per hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus, this role provides a unique work schedule that includes only 15 workdays per month with opportunities for three-day weekends every other week. The shift runs from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. with alternating work and off days, giving an employee-friendly balance of 85.75 hours per pay period including overtime. Dura-Line importantly extends benefits from the first day of hire, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans with generous company matching, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
Candidates must have at least six months of manufacturing experience and the ability to work in a physically demanding, non-climate-controlled environment. The job requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the use of personal protective equipment including steel-toe boots, gloves, and eye protection. Bilingual skills are a plus but not required, and basic computer proficiency along with the capability to perform simple math calculations is expected. This role suits individuals who are committed to safety, quality, and efficiency within a team-oriented, inclusive culture where achievements are recognized and rewarded.
At Dura-Line, employees will find a dynamic workplace committed to employee well-being through comprehensive benefits packages, flexible schedules, and programs that encourage growth and recognition. Whether you are looking to start or grow your career in manufacturing, this opportunity offers stable employment, a supportive environment, and the chance to be part of a company making a meaningful impact in the telecommunications industry. Join Dura-Line’s growing team and contribute to a mission that not only advances technology but positively affects life around the world.
