The Clark location of Kerry is an integral part of the Taste Division, specializing in the production of flavors and ingredients. This facility is unique as it operates two separate buildings with distinct production focuses. The North building is dedicated to natural flavorings and essential oils, characterized by a fruity aroma. In contrast, the South building produces seasonings for products such as meat, chicken broth, and beef gravy, with a savory and garlic scent. This dynamic environment offers a specialized and diverse production setting.
The role offered is a full-time position based at the Clark, NJ facility. The position involves compounding batches of flavors and ingredients that meet strict quality and consistency standards, done in a cost-effective, safe, and timely manner. Employees in this role are responsible for packing and labeling batches accurately before shipment or storage. The position is scheduled for the second shift from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm with a competitive hourly rate of $25.00 plus a shift differential of $0.50.
Key responsibilities for this role include precise compounding of formulas by weight and ingredients, understanding and applying knowledge of raw materials, utilizing inventory rotation methods such as FIFO, and operating various production equipment including pumps, mixers, and scales. Accuracy in filling out scale logs, adherence to manufacturing instructions, proper labeling, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in accordance with Kerry’s protocols are essential. The role also involves handling allergen products safely and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality plans.
Kerry emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to good manufacturing practices. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a factory environment exposed to various product chemicals and raw materials. Certification to wear a respirator and compliance with all related safety rules are mandatory.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds
- must be able to see and distinguish between labels
- must be able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse
- must be certified to wear a respirator and follow respirator rules
- must relocate to Clark, NJ before starting work
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in the flavor or closely related industry
- proficiency in compounding techniques and raw materials
- proficiency in the use of scales and compounding and filling equipment
- ability to work overtime as needed
- flexibility with working hours
Job Duties
- Compound formulas accurately by weight and by ingredients using the best methodology
- possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use
- utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials
- operate pumps, mixers, scales, high density storage units, meters, and computers
- fill out daily scale logs and notify supervisor of discrepancies
- follow manufacturing instructions and proper compounding techniques
- properly label all batches submitted to the lab
- fill all batch containers at proper weights and mark with LPN labels
- follow equipment sanitizing SOPs
- safely evacuate product from all tanks
- maintain inventory information and report shortages
- adhere to 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures
- handle allergen products according to control procedures
- comply with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans and report deviations
- perform other duties assigned by management
