Job Description

Crown Health Care Laundry Services is a specialized facility dedicated to providing high-quality laundry solutions to hospitals and medical facilities. As a company committed to hygiene and customer satisfaction, Crown Health Care Laundry ensures that all linens are processed with the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The plant is divided into two primary production areas: Soil and Clean. Each area plays a critical role in the overall production process, ensuring that all linens returned from healthcare settings are properly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for timely delivery back to clients.

Our laundry services are essential to healthcare operations, facilitating a smooth and sterile workflow for medical facilities by providing them with clean, sterilized linens. The company offers a dynamic, team-oriented working environment where employees are encouraged to develop their skills through rotation across various roles within the production line. Employment at Crown Health Care Laundry typically demands adaptability and a consistent focus on quality and safety standards.

The Production Operator position at Crown Health Care Laundry is integral to the fabric of the operation, involving rotating through multiple roles within the plant to manage linen processing efficiently from start to finish. These operators will be exposed to various tasks which include receiving, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and loading linens for delivery. The role requires employees to operate multiple types of production equipment proficiently and safely, with an expectation to meet and exceed customer service standards every day.

Operators must be versatile, learning to handle different equipment across both the Soil and Clean production lines within a short learning curve of 2 to 5 days per position. Achieving productivity standards within two weeks of hire is critical, and ongoing performance monitoring ensures that those standards continue throughout employment. The company fosters a team culture where employees are expected to collaborate and float between jobs to meet changing production demands.

In the Soil Operations area, production operators engage in sorting soiled linens, washing, and preparing carts for subsequent Clean Operations. This involves tasks like opening and sorting returned bags of soiled linen, cleaning carts, and preparing them for clean linen loading and dispatch. Precision, speed, and safety are vital to ensure that soiled linens are handled efficiently and prepared correctly for the next phase.

Clean Operations focus on processing, folding, ironing, and preparing clean linen for shipment. Employees rotate through positions such as Catcher, Hand Folder, Ironer, and Shipping Clerk, mastering the operation of machines while ensuring quality standards are met. Duties include stacking and building linen carts to customer specifications, folding linens by hand, operating ironers safely, and preparing clean linens for distribution. Attention to detail is required to identify any linen items needing rewash or removal due to damage or contamination.

The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in the final stages by assembling orders, weighing carts, maintaining records, and loading trucks for delivery. This position requires good computer skills, recordkeeping, and analytical abilities. Being proactive, safety-conscious, and quality-driven are paramount throughout every stage of production.

Crown Health Care Laundry Services is committed to a safe work environment, adhering strictly to all quality and safety standards, ensuring employees can perform their jobs effectively with or without accommodations. This full-time position offers a stable work schedule with compensation varying based on area assignments, and an opportunity to be part of a respected service that supports the healthcare community by delivering linen solutions essential to patient care and facility operations.
