Grace is a leading global specialty chemical manufacturing company dedicated to developing and producing innovative products to serve a variety of industries including chemical manufacturing, catalysts, materials science, and more. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement, Grace operates multiple facilities that emphasize workforce development and operational excellence. Based in Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD, Grace maintains a high standard in manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and employee training programs to ensure efficient production and regulatory compliance. The company values collaboration across departments such as manufacturing, engineering, quality control, and environmental health and safety to foster a productive and safe work environment. Grace provides competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement plans with 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, and wellness programs for all employees.
The Production Operations Trainer at Grace serves as a subject matter expert in equipment operation, production processes, safety procedures, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools. This crucial role focuses on developing, maintaining, and delivering comprehensive technical training programs tailored to manufacturing operators, technicians, and support staff. The trainer ensures all personnel are competent, safe, and compliant when operating equipment and following standard procedures, directly impacting product quality and operational productivity. The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing leaders, engineering, quality assurance, and environmental health and safety teams to develop training content aligned with the latest standards and operational needs.
Reporting to the Training Manager, the Production Operations Trainer operates onsite at the Curtis Bay facility in Baltimore, MD, where they deliver hands-on and digital training, update and create standard operating procedures (SOPs), job breakdowns, and training assessments, and monitor employee performance through observations and data review. The trainer also maintains training records, qualification matrices, and certification compliance per company policies and regulatory requirements. The position demands excellent communication skills to effectively engage employees at all organizational levels and continually identify skill gaps requiring targeted learning interventions. Physical requirements and safety protocols are stringent due to the high-hazard environment, including working in elevated or confined spaces, extreme temperatures, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to rigorous safety guidelines. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence, workforce capability, and a safe working environment at Grace’s manufacturing facility.
