The Production Operations Manager at K-LOVE plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and outstanding execution of live events held at the K-LOVE Center and various other ministry venues. Reporting directly to the Senior Live Events Manager, this multifaceted position demands a comprehensive understanding of audio, video, and lighting production processes, as well as strong leadership and project management skills. The manager is responsible for overseeing all technical and production aspects, including sound, lighting, video, rigging, and stage management, to guarantee that events run efficiently, safely, and within budget.

This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple ministry departments, guest artists, technical teams, and external stakeholders. The Production Operations Manager coordinates technical riders, stage plots, and production schedules and leads teams through live event processes such as load-in, soundchecks, rehearsals, and load-out. They must manage diverse projects simultaneously, ensuring that all production systems and environments are maintained in a show-ready state at all times.

The Production Operations Manager not only leads production teams consisting of technical operators, volunteers, contractors, and other support staff but also acts as a key liaison between artists and ministry departments to ensure all technical and operational needs are met. This role commands responsibility for budget management concerning production-related expenses and demands a commitment to professional growth, ministry participation, and adherence to K-LOVE’s safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of venue tech directing or production management experience along with technical proficiency in modern live event technologies and demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Job Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment reference and background screening
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States upon hire

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5-10 years of experience as a venue tech director or production manager
  • Proficient knowledge of MA lighting, architectural lighting control, avid S6L, L-Acoustics, NDI, Tricaster, Vantis rigging, chain motors, and CueServer
  • Experience in planning, organizing, leading, directing, and managing projects
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office products
  • Experience in performing arts, live event touring, media production, or similar industries
  • Strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and live production systems fundamentals
  • Collaborative and flexible style with a service mentality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and in teams

Job Duties

  • Provide timely follow-up and maintain ongoing relationships
  • Manage budget and payments for production-related invoices
  • Supervise and assign duties to production teams and support staff
  • Recruit and hire contractors and technical personnel as needed
  • Act as liaison between guest artists and hosting ministry
  • Serve as primary production contact for artists and clients
  • Communicate technical plans clearly to internal and external teams
  • Oversee technical elements during rehearsals and live events
  • Manage load-in, soundcheck, rehearsal, and load-out processes
  • Ensure events run on time and within safety standards
  • Implement improvements to enhance productivity and quality
  • Lead by example with professionalism and integrity
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across projects
  • Remove roadblocks to support event success
  • Consult with senior team members on ministry initiatives
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
