Job Description

Protoplant, the innovative company behind the Protopasta brand, is a respected manufacturer specializing in materials for 3D printers. Based in Vancouver, Washington, this small yet dynamic local manufacturing company thrives on creativity, flexibility, and dependability to maintain its current customer base, attract new clients, and continually develop new products. The company is well-regarded for producing high-quality filament by extruding pellets through proprietary equipment and processes developed and maintained in-house. In addition to filament production, Protoplant also creates compounds, color masterbatches, and mixes essential to their product line. Their facility is located in a clean, light industrial warehouse setting near SR 500 and NE 121st Avenue, providing an organized and efficient environment for manufacturing. For more insight into Protoplant and its products, interested parties can visit www.protopasta.com.

The Production Manufacturing Operator role at Protoplant is a vital position responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of multiple extrusion lines that produce molten filament used in 3D printing. This filament is carefully cooled using water and air, measured for accuracy, and wound onto eco-friendly corrugated spools. These spools, available in 1kg and 500g sizes, are then labeled, vacuum-sealed, and boxed for shipment. Operators will engage in a variety of tasks including mixing raw materials with colorants and additives, monitoring product quality to meet visual, dimensional, and weight standards, and performing routine maintenance checks on machinery. The position requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Being on your feet for the entire shift and lifting up to 50 pounds are physical demands associated with this role.

This opportunity is tailored for individuals who are self-motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute to a small, growing company where flexibility and creativity are encouraged. Protoplant values its team members' suggestions to continuously improve processes and foster a collaborative workplace culture. The employment is full-time, onsite, with a Monday to Thursday work schedule from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, reflecting a 4x10 hour workweek. The company offers competitive compensation ranging from $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience, along with benefits like health insurance reimbursement, a Simple IRA plan, and paid time off (PTO). This role not only promises a stable and engaging work environment but also the chance to make a meaningful impact in the evolving 3D printing materials industry.
