Job Description

CareWell Health is a renowned healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and comprehensive health services. With a strong commitment to improving community health outcomes, CareWell Health operates with a focus on innovation, compassion, and quality service in all its departments. Among its key divisions is the Food and Nutrition department, which plays a crucial role in supporting patient recovery and wellbeing through carefully managed food services.

CareWell Health is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Services Supervisor to join its Food and Nutrition team. This full-time, regular day shift position operates from 6 AM to 2 PM and requires a proactive individual who is committed to maintaining high standards in food preparation and service. The role is situated within the hospital’s commercial food service operation environment and involves safeguarding food quality and safety to meet hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

The Food Services Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and attractive preparation and serving of patient meals, cafeteria meals, and nourishments. This position requires adherence to all hospital and food service policies and procedures while delivering service with a strong customer focus. The successful candidate will actively participate in forecasting, coordinating, preparing, and monitoring food production activities for both patient and non-patient clientele. Part of the role includes staff training to ensure compliance with portion control and engagement in the planning, development, and execution of menus, promotions, and special events designed to enhance customer satisfaction.

In addition to operational duties, the Food Services Supervisor will contribute to continuous performance improvement initiatives by developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating food service promotions. They will be tasked with ensuring all safety standards reflect CareWell Health’s policies, as observed by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services. Ensuring sanitary and efficient operations in line with federal, state, and local health regulations, including those set by the Joint Commission Accreditation for Hospitals, is a critical part of the role.

This position demands vigilance in monitoring food quality standards throughout the assembly process, completing taste and temperature evaluation forms, and maintaining inventory control for food and non-food supplies to optimize operational and financial efficiency. The role also encourages professional development through participation in relevant professional organizations.

Working conditions may include extended hours with little notice, exposure to noise and temperature fluctuations, and the physical requirement to stand and walk frequently, with occasional lifting of materials up to 40 pounds. The candidate must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and provide additional coverage as needed.

The ideal candidate for the Food Services Supervisor role will hold an Associate Degree or equivalent and preferably be SERVSAFE certified. A minimum of three years’ experience in food services within a related field is required, with culinary certification preferred. Prior basic management experience of at least one year and at least one year of functional experience in food or culinary services is a prerequisite for this role.

This opportunity at CareWell Health offers a chance to work in a dynamic healthcare setting where the impact of quality food service directly supports patient health and satisfaction. The Food Services Supervisor will be a key contributor to upholding the organization’s commitment to excellence in nutrition and hospitality services.
