Job Description
The George DeLallo Company, founded in 1950, is a distinguished family-owned manufacturer and distributor specializing in Italian and Mediterranean foods. With decades of experience and a deep commitment to quality and tradition, DeLallo has grown from its humble origins as a roadside Italian marketplace in Jeannette, PA, to a multi-location enterprise. The company currently operates a corporate office and distribution center in Mount Pleasant, PA, where national sales teams are managed, alongside the operation of a dedicated fleet servicing customers across the country. DeLallo's operations extend to three olive and antipasto production facilities located in Mount Pleasant, PA, Penn, PA, and Oroville, CA, complemented by ownership of an olive orchard in Oroville, CA. Additionally, DeLallo runs an industrial bakery in Bridgeville, PA, further broadening its capabilities in specialty food production.
DeLallo prides itself on its enthusiastic and tenured team, passionate about fostering continued growth and innovation. With an ownership team actively involved in daily operations, DeLallo recognizes and rewards dedicated employees who demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and teamwork. The company’s culture encourages career advancement and specialization, promoting rapid growth opportunities for committed team members. DeLallo remains focused on delivering quality products and programs that create enduring partnerships with customers, build brand loyalty among consumers, and instill employee pride through an unwavering commitment to authentic, innovative, and wholesome foods.
The Production Line Associate position at the DeLallo industrial bakery in Bridgeville, PA, offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to producing high-quality baked products. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with additional weekends and overtime as needed. The primary responsibility of the Production Line Associate is to package finished products from the moving conveyor belt into containers, place completed packages on secondary conveyors for processing, and efficiently stack packed boxes on pallets. A vital aspect of the role involves maintaining product quality and safety, ensuring strict adherence to DeLallo’s quality standards and food safety regulations.
Key duties include monitoring product quality, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the work area. The role demands strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety and Quality Standards, and adherence to allergen control, food defense, and HACCP policies. Teamwork and effective communication with coworkers and supervisors are essential to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Associates are expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, and foster a safe working environment by adhering to company safety procedures and immediately reporting unsafe practices or injuries.
DeLallo offers a supportive environment with chances to learn the production business, career growth opportunities, and membership on an exceptional team dedicated to high standards and mutual support. Compensation includes competitive wages, bi-weekly pay, and a 401k plan with company matching. Paid time off is provided with the option to cash out instead of taking time off, along with paid holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Health insurance benefits become available after 14 days for full-time employees, encompassing medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, hospital indemnity, term life insurance, and pre-tax spending accounts. Additional benefits include short and long-term disability plans, accident coverage, an employee assistance program offering counseling, legal, financial, and work-life support, and free flu shots for all employees.
Career development is a priority at DeLallo, with opportunities for advancement, transfers across locations or departments, comprehensive training programs, and individualized leadership and intern development initiatives. Team member perks also include a referral program and discounts on online purchases. Overall, this position is ideal for individuals seeking to grow within a reputable family-owned food manufacturer that values dedication, quality, safety, and teamwork in delivering authentic Italian and Mediterranean food products to a broad market.
