The Production Coordinator role at US Foods is a crucial position centered around facilitating effective communication and coordination between production, warehouse, and operations teams. This role requires managing order processing activities, responding to inquiries, tracking inventory movement, and supporting both production and warehouse leadership. The Production Coordinator works within established company policies and service agreements to ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance. The job operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with potential for overtime, reflecting the operational demands of the production environment. Physical presence mainly involves office-based activities but occasionally requires engaging in production or warehouse settings, including cooler and freezer areas.

Job Requirements

Minimum one-year production and/or warehouse experience required, preferably in a food environment
Effective communication both verbally and in writing
Excellent telephone and customer service ability
Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope
Perform cross-functional activities, and work on a varying schedule
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division
High school diploma or GED/equivalent required

Job Qualifications

One-year clerical experience preferred
Computer skills, data entry and word processing skills preferred

Job Duties

Assist production leaders with order processing and completion
Assist operations and warehouse leaders with inventory movement between production and warehouse
Communicate with internal and external customers to support staff and customer needs
Respond to general inquiries and telephone calls
Respond to requests by researching information and take detailed messages
Verify information and data to ensure market compliance with regulations and procedures
Collect, track, and input data on relevant operations metrics to support tracking production and warehouse performance
Check documents for accuracy and completeness, cross reference information
Create and maintain basic charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases to prepare for manager’s review
Maintain files, record keeping activities and confidential data
Problem resolution on a smaller or less complex scale or in a liaison role
Prepare and update recurring and routine internal reports, collect and verify data
Other duties as assigned by manager
