The Production Cook position at Sodexo, based at Iroquois Nursing Home, presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service management. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment where preparing, cooking, portioning, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items according to Sodexo's culinary standards are essential daily responsibilities. The position can be either full-time or part-time with a competitive pay rate of $20 per hour. The work schedule includes afternoon and evening shifts, varying days, and rotating weekends, offering flexibility to accommodate different lifestyles and commitments.
As a Production Cook, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that all food products are prepared safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality for all meal periods and events. Your duties will include strictly following basic recipes and product directions to ensure accurate seasoning, cooking, tasting, and presentation of dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts. This role demands a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation standards, as well as maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized workstations
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Support teamwork and communication in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
